Sniffie, one of Finland’s hottest new tech start-ups, specialises in simplifying dynamic pricing for ecommerce. Wanting to create a stellar experience for their customers, they asked IONA to help them improve the UX of their pricing tool - and refresh their UI style guide too.
Sniffie’s dynamic pricing solution is backed by powerful AI, web scraping and pricing tools - but complexity shouldn’t be complicated. Sniffie dreamed of creating an intuitive tool, yet they were held back by an onboarding experience that presented a steep learning curve for new users. The UX was too complex, and the tool was very technical. Sniffie knew it wasn’t good enough, so they asked IONA to help them simplify the experience while refreshing the UI style guide and its components based on their recent brand refresh.
Our designers made the journey easier for new users with a redesigned structure, menu and navigation. From grids and layouts to buttons and text, we translated their new brand look and created consistency with a UI style guide. The framework is based on Google Material design - an open-source design system - which we customised to suit their brand. After validating the prototype and signing off the new style guide, we helped Sniffie’s design and development team implement the new solution - playing within the rules of their frontend library and components to create a more intuitive experience.
IONA’s design consultants were able to help this digital, product-focused company create a new foundation for their UX - something they can build on and add to later. “It’s so important to get the foundation right. It needs to be coherent and consistent”’, says Lauri, a designer at IONA. “Despite working to such a tight deadline and being sophisticated tech-wise, we made the user experience easier for a non-tech audience”. The Sniffie team started implementing the style guide immediately - and our designers were thrilled to see it in action.
