Nuvoo, the market leader for refurbished business-class computers in Finland, worked with IONA to re-evaluate their digital commerce roadmap, architecture and commerce platform, followed by an ecommerce experience refresh and replatforming.

The project

Nuvoo manages ecommerce operations across Finland, Sweden, and Germany. As the business is scaling, Nuvoo’s previous ecommerce platform was limiting scalability, flexibility, and future international growth. To ensure ecommerce capabilities would scale with business ambitions, IONA and Nuvoo executed an end-to-end program, covering strategic discovery, UX/UI design, replatforming, and implementation of a fully functional ecommerce solution.

Through a structured co-creation process, IONA and Nuvoo defined a clear future ecommerce concept aligned with business strategy, identified key target customer groups, and mapped end-to-end customer purchase journeys.
A platform evaluation helped identify an optimal architecture and technology stack capable of supporting scalable growth. IONA recommended the best-fit platform, defined the target architecture, and delivered an implementation roadmap and project plan.

Design of production-ready UX/UI focused on brand alignment, improved usability, conversion, and support of key business objectives. IONA developed a comprehensive end-to-end prototype of the purchase journey and conducted qualitative validation with Nuvoo’s key target groups. Our team created a scalable UI component library in Figma, enabling reusable and consistent design implementation in all upcoming new feature development.

Nuvoo’s ecommerce was replatformed from OpenCart to Shopify, providing a modern and scalable foundation for continued growth. The implementation was delivered through close collaboration between design and development teams and resulted in the launch of Shopify-based ecommerce sites for Finland and Sweden. The solution included integration between Shopify and ERP with a multivendor model, ensuring reliable and scalable data flows across systems.

As the Nuvoo brand was launched some months before the new webshop (the company was previously known as Taitonetti), it was imperative that brand equity, conversions and sales were preserved and fostered despite the wide-ranging changes.

Complete website refresh with new functionalities and on brand

The Nuvoo website underwent a total redesign. The revamped site reflects the new brand throughout. New features help improve the user experience and drive revenue: The site offers easy computer package selection, enabling users to choose things like memory, SSD and warranty for their package. Customers also get recommendations for additional products according to their selections. Additionally, Nuvoo is able to combine products into, for instance, gaming computer packages.
